About Us
Welcome to Druimghigha, our blog about the DIY renovation of our former traditional island hill farm on the Isle of Mull, a remote Hebridean Island off the west coast of Scotland.
We are Shelley Paul, Rae and Rhuri and we moved to this remote isle from suburban Sheffield at Christmas in 2022. We will be documenting this extensive project as we go, our goal is to restore Druimghiga into a thriving smallholding with beautiful places to stay, wild and wonderful outdoor spaces, a productive kitchen garden, and a menagerie of animals. We're sharing our experiences in the hope that we might inspire others to pursue their own island escapes. We will be sharing advice, tutorials, and stories from our journey. Join us on this exciting adventure!
